It's nice to properly 'put the garden to bed' for winter. We cut back any untidy herbaceous bedding and prune shrubs, cut the lawn and clear up fallen leaves. A mulch with some bark chip is highly beneficial for the soil ecosystem. Mulch also protect plant roots and crowns from frost.
