Dulwich courtyard

A small courtyard garden in Dulwich. It's a pleasure to make these little gems because every surface and detail can be meticulously considered and refined.
The paving is handmade Dutch clay paviours on a permeable sub-base. SuDS: Sustainable Drainage Systems, all rainwater is kept on site.
The cedar batten cladding is fixed in a L shape to create shadow textures as the sun moves in the sky.
A hidden shed blended into the cladding, with a sedum roof.
We found the perfect to trees at Provender Nurseries: a large lanky olive and wonderful Acer griseum (it wasn't easy getting them into the courtyard!)
